How I Met Kellan Lutz
This is a story of a dream comes true. Indeed, it’s a happy ending story which will never be forgotten in the rest of my life. This is the story of How I Met Kellan Lutz, the one who played Emmett Cullen in Twilight SAGA.
I know for some of die-hard fans of Twilight they will totally envy this but I also know that some of you consider Twilight as lame. However, in my opinion Twilight (especially the first movie) was not that bad. Okay, no more talking about Twilight. This post should be about Kellan Lutz.
In the end of September 2011, I happened to know that Kellan Lutz was in Yogyakarta. At first, I thought “Wow I just watched this guy in Love, Wedding, Marriage and now he’s in the town where I live in, awesome!”. The next thing I knew, he’s here for doing a movie called Java Heat. I followed Kellan’s tweets and saw how humble he is with his fans. He often replied some of his fans’ tweets and posted picture with his fans. I wanted that too. So, I was thinking how to meet Kellan Lutz in more elegant way. Of course I did not want to wandering all by myself to find the filming location nor waiting for hours on the set just to get Kellan’s greeting.
One day, my friend posted on Facebook that the filming location was nearby so I took the chance to go and see how the production was. It was at noon and so hot. I guessed I won’t be so long there. Then a crew of the film production approached me. That was the beginning of this story happened. I gained many information from the man such as the schedule, location, the name of director, producer, and the most important the production house company. The man thought that I was a journalist.
I did a little research and finally found how to contact the production house. But, before contacting them I had to represent a prestigious media so they could arrange time for an interview with Kellan Lutz. So, I contacted my best friend Nadia who works for great teenage magazine in Indonesia, GoGirl! I said “Perhaps I can arrange interview with Kellan Lutz, what do you say?”. She said that she would propose this with her editor. So, I helped her contacting the production house asking the possibilities for an interview with Kellan.
One day, Nadia surprised me with a morning call, saying that the Associate Producer of Java Heat granted the interview proposal for Kellan Lutz. Another good news, her editor approved this idea. I then became the connector between GoGirl! Editor and Seth Baron, Associate Producer of Java Heat to discuss about the interview schedule. Finally, we got schedule for intervewing Connor Allyn, the Director of Java Heat on October 29 and Kellan the next day. The best thing was we were invited to do the interview on the set.
It was an amazing experience to see first-hand a real set for Hollywood Movie. They built set of Yogyakarta housing settlement in a warehouse owned by government body which located in the middle of rural areas. I forgot the name of the village but I saved Seth’s text message telling the name of the location.
Anyway, we interviewed Connor at first. Then he showed us around the set. Unfortunately Kellan was in another filming location that night. So, we couldn’t meet him.
The next day, we went to the set again for interviewing Kellan. We arrived around 3 pm in the afternoon but Seth said that we need to wait because Kellan was still doing some scenes. So, when it came to break time Kellan came out from the set, Seth introduced him to us. He gave us short greeting since he had to take quick lunch then running for another scene. We waited for about 9 hours until the wrap of the filming take that day. Seth had to leave earlier but he had notice Josh, Kellan’s assistant that we were waiting outside for an interview. He said that Josh fully aware that we’re still there waiting.
The time has finally come. There he was, Kellan Lutz, sitting in front of me, intervewed by GoGirl! Editor. It was a great and fun interview. Kellan was so humble and expressive. One thing I knew about him during the interview, he’s an adventurous guy. He likes doing and trying something new. The interview has been published in GoGirl! Desember 2011 issue.
Kellan wants to try to do superhero for his next character. This made my gift was perfectly fits him. I gave him Gathotkaca doll from Dagadu. I told him that Gathotkaca is local superhero from Javanese mythology. He gave me warm hug for that Halloween present. The next day he tweeted me saying how happy he was with the superhero gift. That was the best Halloween ever for me.
That was the story of How I Met Kellan Lutz. It was a dream come true because I really wanted to get involved in an interview with famous people, especially the one that I possibly have a rare chance to meet. That’s why this meeting with Kellan Lutz was an unforgettable story. It’s not everyday that we can meet Hollywood stars on the street and interview them. The best part of this story was I tried to seize the opportunity. I thank myself for that.
My Newest Hobby Kokoru
One day, I needed some supplies to make scrapbook. I went to the nearest book store to find all the tools I needed, decorative scissors, papers, glue, and anything which will look awesome to my scrapbook. I stopped at one section just next to the toy section, there were these colorful papers called Kokoru Paper. Why Kokoru Paper? I think it stands for color corrugated paper.
At that time, there were only two variants of Kokoru Paper, Hachi and Ichi. The Hachi one consists of 8 A4 sized papers with different bright colors. What makes the Ichi one different from Hachi is the size of the paper. It’s like the cut version of the Hachi. So, when you need to make a figure with the paper, you don’t need to face the troublesome to cut the paper into pieces.
Alright, this colorful wavy paper has caught my attention and it’s become my newest hobby since. You could make any character figure with this paper as long as it has round basic shape. At the first time doing this craft, I created small stuff as my scrapbook decorations.
For me, this activity kind of addictive somehow. When I finish created something, I always feel “Oh Wow”, then I want to create another one. From simple shape to difficult one. For you who like anything South Korea, this Oppa and Eonnie figure in hanbok will be best for your gift
I also made popular cartoon characters which is very popular now among the kids in Indonesia. Presenting Shaun the Sheep Family in Kokoru Version
Anyway is there any of you happen to know the name of the dog?
Stuff That Makes Your Life Easier, #Blu Tack
Are you a female university student who live in a dorm, rent house, or rent room? When you want to hang something in your wall, what do you need? Let me guess nail, hammer, and guy muscle. For some girls, they can do guys job better, but the others are just suck. So, they never hang anything in their wall if they haven’t found a good guy who voluntarily do the hammer and nail. It happened to me though. My father came once just to help me hanging the mirror and book shelve.
There was a time when I bought wall clock, wall organizer, and cute small picture frame. I had no idea how to put those stuffs on my wall since I don’t have hammer, nail, and a guy volunteer. Double tape will not work for 3 dimensional thing. I kept those stuffs in the box until I found a cool stuff in a stationery section. It’s called Blu Tack. It’s a gum-look-alike adhesive which sticky enough to make your wall clock or picture frame beautifully put on your wall. The one I bought was from Bostik. My opinion the product worked well. I’ve been using blue tact for my wall clock for almost a year and it never fell. I use blue tact to arrange my picture frame, decoration, wall organizer, and event my desk lamp!! Sadly said, I don’t have enough space for my stuffs. So, I need to utilize as many as spaces left in my room. I cannot put any more table or chair (well I really don’t have chair though in my room), that’s why the desk lamp was abandoned. But now, it’s not anymore. With Blue Tack I could stick my desk lamp on the wall and now make it as a wall lamp. That was brilliant, wasn’t it?
If you are interested to buy one, the packaging of the product will be like this at the stationery shop
Buy one and I bet you want to stick everything in your wall.
Why Faithcorp?
The first question when you visit this blog probably, why faithcorp? What a cheesy name!! Huh!
Well, everything have history. Remember when you were child and you created character or even person in your imagination? I did. Faith is one of imaginary characters I created. So, what about the corp? Simply, corp stands for corporation like a company. Uhmm, this doesn’t make sense at all. But wait, I got explanation for this.
Everybody has a dream to have their own company? Am I correct? I can hear you say “Yes” in distant. So, what kind of company (corp) I wanted to have? Just like a normal girl, I want to own my own brand of clothing and I would labelled it “Faith” so the company name will be faithcorp. The thing is, I kind of not really talented in doing entrepreneurship stuffs. So, when I realize it’s still long way to go to put this name in one of my design, I put this for my blog because I could do write better than sewing cloth.
I started using this “Faithcorp” name to any stuffs that I have, my flashdisk, personal computer, computer user, etc. I hope someday I could use this brand for something I always wanted for. In the mean time, faithcorp will be a place where I could write anything I want.
Magika: A Journey to the Other World
Yesterday, I found interesting movie titled Magika. Yes, it is a Malaysia movie. It tells the story of two siblings Malik and his elder sister Ayu. Their mother just passed away because of health degradation after giving her kidney to Malik. Therefore, Malik felt that it was his fault that his mother died.
One day, it was dusk at his grandmother’s house and Malik threw a tantrum. This made him quarreling again with his sister. Malik was upset and decided to leave. Ayu ran after him after being told by her father.
Malik found an ancient well in the middle of the forest. Curious by the sound he heard from the well, he approached the well and fell off. Ayu who was aware of this, planned to save Malik by using old rope she found. Unfortunately the rope was broken and she fell into to the well. Magically, Ayu got up from the water and she was suddenly in other world but she could not find Malik. Apparently, Malik was kidnapped by a local witch called Nenek Kebayan. She used the tears of Malik to make eternal youth potion so she can earn more silver and gold by selling it to Puteri Gunung Ledang. Then, the journey in Magika began for Ayu to get Malik back to their world. She met a local guy called Badang who reluctantly helped her because he couldn’t stand of her crying. The journey back home was not as easy as it seems.
Journey to The Past
For me, watching this movie feels like a journey to the past. Why? Because this movie reminds me a lot to olden days of Indonesia Movie I watched during my childhood. There was a time when fantasy based genre movie were very popular in Indonesia. Perhaps the 80’s or 90’s generation still remember about the story of Aladdin played by Rano Karno and Lidya Kandau or Putri Tidur played by Ira Maya Sopha. Yes, those movies were also musical just like typical Disney’s movie. Magika is also a musical movie directed by Edry Abdul Halim. I don’t know much about the director but I bet he’s a famous movie director in Malaysia.
The plot of the story is very simple and you don’t have to think to enjoy this movie. This other world version of Magika is the olden version of Malaysia in my opinion. Because the characters from Magika all wearing traditional clothes just like the era of Wiro Sableng or Si Buta dari Goa Hantu in Indonesia.
Cheesy but Tasty
Well don’t you expect the story will be like Narnia or Harry Potter or even Alice in Wonderland. The plot is cheesy for sure. I mean there should be differences between a musical film and musical play right? In a film, everything must be seemed legit but in a musical play you could do whatever improvisation.
At the first scene after Malik got up from the water and he was kidnapped by Nenek Kebayan, the scene portrayed Nenek Kebayan as the most powerful evil whom everyone scared. But, later in the middle of the movie you will find that people in the village do not scared at her at all since she helps people with her potion. I thought Nenek Kebayan will be a kid eating witch and everyone will be afraid of her. I told you, the plot was cheesy. And not to mention about the cage which was used by Nenek Kebayan to put Malik so he could not runaway. Believe me, it looks so fragile and can be crushed in just one punch.
Another cheesy scene was when Ayu, Malik, and Badang finally find the portal to send Ayu and Malik home. The last obstacle they need to overcame was a dragon. I mean what the dragon business? Guarding the portal? Or simply just want to eat them? Did they insult the dragon?
If you have good eyes you will see a weird scene. You could see clearly Ayu was wearing white trainer when a packs of monkeys running into Ayu and Malik which make them fell down to the ground. Sure, it was dirt all over Ayu white trainer. But the next day when Malik woke up from his dream and running to his sister, magically the dirt wasn’t seen in his sister’s white trainer. It seemed like she just bought a new one at the mall.
Well, apart from the cheesiness of the story or some awkward scenes, for me Magika is quite entertaining. I enjoy the music. Love the song though ‘cause it reminds me the feeling when I watched this kind of movie when I was little girl. The music could make us feel special. Dania Danielle who played as Ayu in this movie in my opinion was doing a good acting. I think she looks like Dinda Kanya Dewi. Just watch, then you will agree with me. If you want to feel they joy when you were child, try this movie. At least it can make you smile and laugh for sure.
Rest in Peace, Uncle
After 4 days struggling at the hospital, my uncle passed away on Thursday morning, March 2. He suffered from liver xerosis which made his liver malfunction. It’s getting worse since he also got Hepatitis B.
He was under the treatment of Intensive Care Unit after having blood puke on Friday, February 26. My aunt said he was first being sick on 2005. Several medication made him better. But, this last two years my uncle started to have some serious illness. The peak of his suffering was on Friday when he had melena which made him having blood puke.
It was really heart breaking moment during his funeral ceremony. Considering he left two children who still really need te affection of a father. My uncle has two children. The older one is a 17 years old girl and the younger one is a 12 years old boy. Perhaps, It’s very difficult time for Ana, the older child. She will be graduate from highschool this year and starting to get college. At the end of this month she will have national examination for her highschool graduation. Any daughter always wants to have her father smile at the graduation day and any father will be proud to see his daughter getting in university. It won’t happen for my cousin anyway. She must be very sad. For the younger brother, It will be so difficult to grow up without a figure of a father.
I wish all the best for my cousins. It won’t be easy to live without father. But in the end, I believe they will grow up amazingly. They will be mature in advance leaving their friends at the same age. Their father will be proud of them. At least, for the time being, their father will not suffering anymore. Rest in peace, uncle. So long and good night.
Living Up in The Air
George Clooney played as Ryan Bingham in Up in The Air movie. Ryan is a charm and free life oriented man. His employer owns a company which provides service in downsizing employee. Some bosses are just too coward to fire the employee by themself so they hire the service of the company.
Ryan then being sent to the company around United states to do his job, firing people. He spends 322 days of his year in travel. It makes him never exist to his family. His free life philosophy makes him avoiding any relationships and commitments. He never dream of settling down and building a family. During his travel, Ryan meets an attractive woman. Her name is Alex from Chicago. They seem to like each other and continue to match the schedule to have fun together.
One day, the company hired a new employee called Natalie Keener. A bright university graduate who applied job in firing people just to follow his boyfriend in Omaha. Natalie is an ambitious co-worker who convinced her boss to cut the cost of sending employee firing people. Means, the employee will stay at the office and do his job in front of webcam. Ryan disagree about her suggestion. He said that Natalie didn’t know anything about the process of firing people. Having argue, the boss then decided to send Natalie along with Ryan to show her what it’s like firing people.
As the two travel together, they get to know each other better. Somehow, Natalie knocked Ryan’s heart. Suddenly, Ryan thinks that he’s been on his own for too long. So, he catches a plane to attend his sister wedding and invites Alex to accompany him. He’s so in love with Alex. But, that’s not last for a long time when Ryan finally find out that Alex already have a family.
It’s a really interesting story though. The job which Ryan experting at is the most eye-catchy part on the story. It’s quite amusing to watch how Ryan doing his capability in firing people. What we can learn of this movie is that living up in the air is exciting but you’re just a lonely man when you’re back down here. Having free life philosophy is fun but It’s no longer fun until you feel that you’re so lonely.
War is A Drug, Bomb is the Toy
This movie is directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the ex-wife of James Cameron whose movie got the same nomination for Best Picture. The movie set was in Iraq. It tells the story of US Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team during the early stages of the post-invation in Iraq in 2004. Sergeant William James was sent as the team leader of EOD unit with the Bravo Company squad in Camp Victory.
He replaced Sergeant William Thompson who was killed by by a remote-detonated improvised explosive device (IED) in Baghdad. He joined Sergeant J.T. Sanborn and Specialist Owen Eldridge, whose jobs are to communicate with him and provide cover and back up while he examines IEDs.
James was pictured as having no fear soldier. Instead of using robot to examine the bomb, he prefer to do it by himself. It’s really risky and dangerous task. He’s really brave and expert in disposing bomb. And he enjoys to do the job as he has disposed 873 bombs already. For him, disposing bomb is a drug which makes him addicted. It’s a toy to be collected after being paralyzed.
Like others festival kind of movie, The Hurt Locker tend to have flat and long plot. The ending of the movie is the art of the entire story. That’s the key of festival kind of movie. Even the plot is tend to be flat and long (and perhaps boring), The Hurt Locker is a great movie with very strong story. I prefer this one as the best picture on this year Oscar to the competitive counterpart. Avatar is an awesome movie but nothing special from the story line except the expensive technology which makes the movie incredible.
My Sister’s Keeper : Another Touching Movie
Anna Fitzgerald, a 13 years old girl sues her parents for the own of her body. Anna was born in purpose. She was made to save her sister Kate who suffered from cancer. If Kate needs blood, It will be taken from Anna. So does for the other organ or tissues. Anna was like a spare part for Kate. And finally come a situation when Kate needs one of Anna’s kidney. At that time Anna is not a baby child anymore. She is 13 years old and doesn’t want to do that. She definitely knows that Kate will be die If she doesn’t donor her kidney. But, she thinks that herself is important also and deserves to live with her complete kidneys. So, she doesn’t donor her kidney.

It’s quite heart-breaking watching the conflict between Anna (played by Abigail Breslin) and her mother Sara (played by Cameron Diaz). It must be hurt to know her mother considered Kate as more important. And what about Anna? Doesn’t she have any right to live happily with her full body parts. Not only Kate who is suffering, Anna also feels painful during the operation to transplant her cells or tissues for Kate. Anna suffered from complication once that made her had to be hospitalized for about a week.
This movie is an adaptation from a novel book by Jodi Picoult published in 2004 with the same title, My Sister’s Keeper. But, the story line between the novel and the movie is quite different. Some parts of the novel do not pictured at all in the movie. The ending version is not the same also. The novel version ending is more heart breaking than the movie one.
I suggest you to watch the movie first then read the book. Because in some cases adaptation movie is disappointing. Both the book or the movie made my cry after the ending. This is definitely must watch movie for the girl and mother.
Robert Kearns – Inventor
Flash of Genius is a biographical film released in 2008. The story based on 1993 New Yorker Article by John Seabrook. Robert Kearns was an inventor of intermittent windshield wiper. The invention idea came from when he was driving his Ford Galaxie through a light rain. The constant movement of the wiper blades irritated his troubled vision. A champagne cork accidentaly tossed aside to his left eye during his wedding night and caused the trouble for his left eye. The incident inspired him to create a wiper blade mechanism modeled on the human eye, which blinks every few seconds rather than continuously.
With the help of Gil Privick, Kearns carried out his idea and made the prototype. He then patented his invention and demonstrated it to Ford researchers who had been working on a similar project without success. As Kearns wouldn’t explain how it worked until he got a deal with the corporation, the Ford executive Macklin Tyler asked him to prepare a business plan.
Kearns prepared his business plan by himself while he was waiting for the Ford response. Time passed by and there was no response at all. He became frustrated when he finally found out the latest model of Mustang using his intermittent windshield wiper without giving him credit or payment for it.
Being in a deep frustation, Kearns then treated for a nervous breakdown in a mental hospital. After several months, Kearns then being released by the doctor. He finally went home and started a legal battle to suit Ford Motor Company. Nobody supported him at all because It seems impossible to defeat a powerful giant company. Even Gil Privick who knew the idea from the start didn’t want to give his testimony in the court. Kearns’ wife, Phyllis then decided to separate with him. She brought their six children with her. But, during his difficult times, Robert Kearns never gave up. He tried years to get support from her children. The company offered him some money to shut down the case, many times, but Kearns rejected. For him, claimed to be the inventor is everything. He just want to be recognized as the inventor of intermittent winshield wiper which used in thousand cars produced by Ford.
The story of this movie is very similar with The Pursuit of Happiness. After the difficult times there’s always be a hope and finally come happiness, as long as we make every endeavor for it. Flash of Genius is a happy ending movie which has slow and long plot. It makes us who aren’t used to watch a movie like this become bored somehow. But for me, It’s a worth watched movie. This movie told us not to give up in everything we believe It’s right. Like Kearns who never give up to fight his right even seems to be impossible. All the good things we worked will eventually led us to victory.
