My Newest Hobby Kokoru

leave a comment »

One day, I needed some supplies to make scrapbook. I went to the nearest book store to find all the tools I needed, decorative scissors, papers, glue, and anything which will look awesome to my scrapbook. I stopped at one section just next to the toy section, there were these colorful papers called Kokoru Paper. Why Kokoru Paper? I think it stands for color corrugated paper.

At that time, there were only two variants of Kokoru Paper, Hachi and Ichi. The Hachi one consists of 8 A4 sized papers with different bright colors. What makes the Ichi one different from Hachi is the size of the paper. It’s like the cut version of the Hachi. So, when you need to make a figure with the paper, you don’t need to face the troublesome to cut the paper into pieces.

Alright, this colorful wavy paper has caught my attention and it’s become my newest hobby since. You could make any character figure with this paper as long as it has round basic shape. At the first time doing this craft, I created small stuff as my scrapbook decorations.

My Very First Kokoru Artwork

For me, this activity kind of addictive somehow. When I finish created something, I always feel “Oh Wow”, then I want to create another one. From simple shape to difficult one.  For you who like anything South Korea, this Oppa and Eonnie figure in hanbok will be best for your gift

Oppa and Eonnie

I also made popular cartoon characters which is very popular now among the kids in Indonesia. Presenting Shaun the Sheep Family in Kokoru Version

Stuff That Makes Your Life Easier, #Blu Tack

leave a comment »

Are you a female university student who live in a dorm, rent house, or rent room? When you want to hang something in your wall, what do you need? Let me guess nail, hammer, and guy muscle. For some girls, they can do guys job better, but the others are just suck. So, they never hang anything in their wall if they haven’t found a good guy who voluntarily do the hammer and nail. It happened to me though. My father came once just to help me hanging the mirror and book shelve.

The Magical Gum : Blue Tack

There was a time when I bought wall clock, wall organizer, and cute small picture frame. I had no idea how to put those stuffs on my wall since I don’t have hammer, nail, and a guy volunteer. Double tape will not work for 3 dimensional thing. I kept those stuffs in the box until I found a cool stuff in a stationery section. It’s called Blu Tack. It’s a gum-look-alike adhesive which sticky enough to make your wall clock or picture frame beautifully put on your wall. The one I bought was from Bostik. My opinion the product worked well. I’ve been using blue tact for my wall clock for almost a year and it never fell. I use blue tact to arrange my picture frame, decoration, wall organizer, and event my desk lamp!! Sadly said, I don’t have enough space for my stuffs. So, I need to utilize as many as spaces left in my room. I cannot put any more table or chair  (well I really don’t have chair though in my room), that’s why the desk lamp was abandoned. But now, it’s not anymore. With Blue Tack I could stick my desk lamp on the wall and now make it as a wall lamp. That was brilliant, wasn’t it?

If you are interested to buy one, the packaging of the product will be like this at the stationery shop

Buy one and I bet you want to stick everything in your wall.

Why Faithcorp?

leave a comment »

The first question when you visit this blog probably, why faithcorp? What a cheesy name!! Huh!

Well, everything have history. Remember when you were child and you created character or even person in your imagination? I did. Faith is one of imaginary characters I created. So, what about the corp? Simply, corp stands for corporation like a company. Uhmm, this doesn’t make sense at all. But wait, I got explanation for this.

Everybody has a dream to have their own company? Am I correct? I can hear you say “Yes” in distant. So, what kind of company (corp) I wanted to have? Just like a normal girl, I want to own my own brand of clothing and I would labelled it “Faith” so the company name will be faithcorp. The thing is, I kind of not really talented in doing entrepreneurship stuffs. So, when I realize it’s still long way to go to put this name in one of my design, I put this for my blog because I could do write better than sewing cloth.

I started using this “Faithcorp” name to any stuffs that I have, my flashdisk, personal computer, computer user, etc. I hope someday I could use this brand for something I always wanted for. In the mean time, faithcorp will be a place where I could write anything I want.

Magika: A Journey to the Other World

leave a comment »

Yesterday, I found interesting movie titled Magika. Yes, it is a Malaysia movie. It tells the story of two siblings Malik and his elder sister Ayu. Their mother just passed away because of health degradation after giving her kidney to Malik. Therefore, Malik felt that it was his fault that his mother died.

One day, it was dusk at his grandmother’s house and Malik threw a tantrum. This made him quarreling again with his sister. Malik was upset and decided to leave. Ayu ran after him after being told by her father.

Malik found an ancient well in the middle of the forest. Curious by the sound he heard from the well, he approached the well and fell off. Ayu who was aware of this,  planned to save Malik by using old rope she found. Unfortunately the rope was broken and she fell into to the well. Magically, Ayu got up from the water and she was suddenly in other world but she could not find Malik. Apparently, Malik was kidnapped by a local witch called Nenek Kebayan. She used the tears of Malik to make eternal youth potion so she can earn more silver and gold by selling it to Puteri Gunung Ledang. Then, the journey in Magika began for Ayu to get Malik back to their world. She met a local guy called Badang who reluctantly helped her because he couldn’t stand of her crying. The journey back home was not as easy as it seems.

Journey to The Past

For me, watching this movie feels like a journey to the past. Why? Because this movie reminds me a lot to olden days of Indonesia Movie I watched during my childhood. There was a time when fantasy based genre movie were very popular in Indonesia. Perhaps the 80’s or 90’s generation still remember about the story of Aladdin played by Rano Karno and Lidya Kandau or Putri Tidur played by Ira Maya Sopha. Yes, those movies were also musical just like typical Disney’s movie. Magika is also a musical movie directed by Edry Abdul Halim. I don’t know much about the director but I bet he’s a famous movie director in Malaysia.

The plot of the story is very simple and you don’t have to think to enjoy this movie. This other world version of Magika is the olden version of Malaysia in my opinion. Because the characters from Magika all wearing traditional clothes just like the era of Wiro Sableng or Si Buta dari Goa Hantu in Indonesia.

Cheesy but Tasty

Well don’t you expect the story will be like Narnia or Harry Potter or even Alice in Wonderland. The plot is cheesy for sure. I mean there should be differences between a musical film and musical play right? In a film, everything must be seemed legit but in a musical play you could do whatever improvisation.

See, The Cage.

At the first scene after Malik got up from the water and he was kidnapped by Nenek Kebayan, the scene portrayed Nenek Kebayan as the most powerful evil whom everyone scared. But, later in the middle of the movie you will find that people in the village do not scared at her at all since she helps people with her potion. I thought Nenek Kebayan will be a kid eating witch and everyone will be afraid of her. I told you, the plot was cheesy. And not to mention about the cage which was used by Nenek Kebayan to put Malik so he could not runaway. Believe me, it looks so fragile and can be crushed  in just one punch.

Another cheesy scene was when Ayu, Malik, and Badang finally find the portal to send Ayu and Malik home. The last obstacle they need to overcame was a dragon. I mean what the dragon business? Guarding the portal? Or simply just want to eat them? Did they insult the dragon?

If you have good eyes you will see a weird scene. You could see clearly Ayu was wearing white trainer when a packs of monkeys running into Ayu and Malik which make them fell down to the ground. Sure, it was dirt all over Ayu white trainer. But the next day when Malik woke up from his dream and running to his sister, magically the dirt wasn’t seen in his sister’s white trainer. It seemed like she just bought a new one at the mall.

After the Monkey Part

The Next Day The Dirt Magically Gone

Well, apart from the cheesiness of the story or some awkward scenes, for me Magika is quite entertaining. I enjoy the music. Love the song though ‘cause it reminds me the feeling when I watched this kind of movie when I was little girl. The music could make us feel special. Dania Danielle who played as Ayu in this movie in my opinion was doing a good acting. I think she looks like Dinda Kanya Dewi. Just watch, then you will agree with me. If you want to feel they joy when you were child, try this movie. At least it can make you smile and laugh for sure.
