Sunday Evening
I saw you at a glance. But then, I didn’t know why this feeling came to me accidentaly.
It was Saturday evening and I saw you there, in front of the computer screen. “What are you doing?” I asked silently to myself. I thought that I was the only one who didn’t go out on Saturday. Then I realized that I was wrong. You just stayed at this boarding school on Saturday, why?
“Hi” Said you when I was walking closer to you to reach the computer desk beside the one which you were using.
“Oh, hi” I replied nervously. Then, I just got to my computer desk on the computer room.
I never saw you before. It was Saturday evening, why didn’t you go out to spend your weekend instead of spending time in front of the computer screen?
My name is Faith, the most unpopular girl on this boarding school. I never go out on Saturday evening. I don’t know how to deal with jam, clubbing, walk around, or even a party. So, I just stayed at school on Saturday evening to finish my homework. At least, I know how to deal with homework, books, and computer although I’m not an expert in computer.
“What are you doing here?” I asked him when he was so serious looking at his computer screen.
“Nothing, I’m just checking my e-mail, replying some e-mails, playing online game, managing our boarding school website” said him.
“Manage what?” I asked curiously.
“Our boarding school website. I’m in charge” Said him again. At that time he smiled at me. I saw his eyes stared at me. Then, I started to take a look at him. His fingers danced beautifully on the keyboard.
Oh My God! I almost forgot. He made me forgot about my homework for a while. I started the computer on. For several minutes he and I didn’t talk. We were busy with what we were doing.
“What are you doing?” He asked me.
“Me? Umm I’m doing my homework” I said.
“On Saturday evening? Gosh! I never meet a person who does her homework on Saturday evening. But now I met her” He smiled at me.
“That’s not funny!” I smiled at him.
“Then, why didn’t you go out?” I asked him.
“Don’t you see that I’m very busy to manage our school website”
“Who asked you to do that?”
“Our headmaster” Said him short.
“He asked you only?” I asked curiously again.
“No. I have team to do this project. But, don’t you realize that it’s Saturday?”
Damn! How could I be so stupid? Of course most of his team mates went home on Saturday or they are having fun out there.
“I’m sorry, I forgot that it is Saturday” I continued to do my homework.
Usually, only me who does the homework on the computer room at Saturday evening. But now, there is other person here, doing the school project.

The next Saturday evening, I met him again on the computer room. He still did the school project without his partners. We talked a lot. Then, I knew that his name was Dave. He had good humor sense. We talked and laughed together. I felt so happy at that time.
My house is so far from my boarding school so I prefer to stay at my school on Saturday. My house lies on the island across the island where my boarding school located. That’s why I seldom to went home. My job is to study hard here.
Day after day, Dave and I become closer. Actually, Dave is a nice friend. He’s very smart on computer and his fingers type so fast, faster than me. We meet every Saturday evening on the computer room. We deal with our own business.
“Hey, you dropped something” Said Dave when I was walking to the door of the computer room.
“I think it’s a letter” Dave took what I dropped.
“Give it to me!” I take what I dropped away from his hand.
“I’m sorry, it’s a private letter, and you can’t read it” I said.
“Oh, pity!” He said.
“What is the content?” He asked.
“It’s secret” I put the letter into my binder.
“Well, I’m sleepy. I want to go to bed. Good night Dave” I smiled at him.
“Good night Faith”
At that time, I saw him smiled back at me. The sweetest and deepest smile I have ever seen since I met him. And I also could see his eyes were sparkling when he said good night to me.

The next Saturday evening, I went to computer room to do my paper. And as usual, Dave was there. He still did his project, managing virtual home of this boarding school.
I used computer that I usually use to do my homework. But, I thought I got some trouble with the computer. Unfortunately, I didn’t know how to fix it.
“What’s wrong Faith?” Dave asked me.
“This computer is having some trouble” I answered.
“Let me checked it” Dave came to my computer desk then he sat on the chair where I sat. The chair is long so it’s enough for Dave and I.
Dave looked so serious checking the computer. He’s very skillful on computer although he’s just a second grade high school student like me.
Then I realize now. I don’t know how life can change like this. He came accidentally into my life. Now, he is crawling into my heart. No, I can’t do that. I can’t give him a space in my heart. But how? He always comes into my mind. I can’t stop thinking of him.
I hope that I will not fall in love with Dave because I will hurt a heart if I do. I stared at the letters that Michael sent to me. I have already had somebody else to love and he is Michael, my boyfriend. We have built relationship for almost two years, a long distance relationship. But, people say that long distance relationship will not work and it won’t last forever. I’m so confuse, I love Dave but I can’t cheat on Michael. So, I cried that night, two hours after I met Dave on the computer room.
Dave, I can’t stop thinking of you. You know what, last night was so wonderful for me. We sat on the same chair in front of the same computer. We talked a lot, didn’t we? Although it didn’t work out like I expected. I like the way you talk, the way you touch the computer keyboard and you know what Dave, I like you when you are looking so serious. I want to spend my time with you all the time not only on Saturday evening. But unfortunately life isn’t like what I expected. Dave, I will miss your peaceful eyes on me. If the words don’t come like what I want, I hope you still now what my heart wants to say.
Dave, I’m leaving. I’m leaving for Michael, I’m leaving this boarding school. You know what, two years are not a short time for a long distance relationship. I hope you understand. There will be a place in my heart for you; I hope that I have a place in your heart too.
I put the letter that I wrote last night on the computer desk which Dave usually uses. I hope he will find it soon.
“Goodbye Dave” Said me before closing the computer room’s door. I walked out of my boarding school building. I walked through the school yard passing the wet grass and then passing the school gate.

On Sunday Evening Dave found the letter. He read it and he couldn’t say anything. He just sat on the chair of his computer desk. The computer screen is playing the screen saver.
“Although I didn’t say it to you, I hope you still now what my heart wants to say Faith. I’ll be missing you” Said him silently.
